This is Jojo, this is Jojo's Bullitt.
Jojo has been a mainstay of the messenger community both here in Copenhagen and in Berlin and the glorious warhorse perched next to him is his trusty old Bullitt. Jojo bought this second hand TNT back in 2012 from a messenger colleague and put in a solid 20.000 km on it during his first year of ownership. Having tallied up the years he has been using it solidly as his work bike, we came up with an estimated total of no less than 130.000 km. That is a massively impressive figure, both personally for Jojo as a cyclist and for the machine.
It's worth noting that in it's lifetime this Bullitt still has the original fork, which solidifies our argument for a steel fork. It has however, had the steerer arm replaced along with other components. Regardless, this is something worth bearing in mind when buying a Bullitt... the lifespan of the product. If Jojo can ride this much with commercial loads though all seasons in Northern Europe, it acts somewhat as a proof of concept for us and should answer many of the queries we receive regarding durability. The Bullitt was designed to be ridden every day, year round for many, many years. We built it to last and are really proud of it's quality.
Jojo retired his treasured old TNT in December 2021 and it's now on display in our shop as a sort of museum piece (not that it doesn't run anymore btw, we just think it looks so awesome. How many stories this bike must have been part of!). He then built himself a shiny new Submarine which will hopefully keep him pedalling and delivering for the next decade.
