Music has remixes, video games have mods & Bullitts have Norbert Wudick.
Here at Larry vs Harry, we pride ourselves on having created a bike that isn't just a bike, but a platform: A platform for creativity, DIY, and pretty much any setup you can think of. But Norbert doesn't just agree with us on this point, oh he takes it to a whole other level.
The beginning
It's 2010, it's Eurobike time - and the young, innocent and optimistic duo, Larry & Harry, find themselves in Friedrichshafen, at the worlds biggest biking convention.

Among the thousands of attendees was Norbert. At this time he'd recently pivoted away from carpentry, and embraced the world of cycling.
As he wandered the noisy convention halls, something caught his eye - a bike that wasn't matte black?! It was bright, colorful - oh, and it had a big cargo area right in the front. In his own words: The clean aesthetics and the exceptionally sporty ride quality of the Bullitt immediately won him over.
Norbert placed his first Bullitt order on the spot, and that marked the beginning of his cargobike focused business.
Tinkering & Customization
Over the following years, his business increasingly centered on the Bullitt. But as a passionate tinkerer and problem-solver, Norbert was never satisfied with the status quo.
A first major milestone came in 2016 with an extraordinary conversion known as the “Beer Bullitt”. Norbert integrated a Bottoms Up dispensing system into an aluminum box, filling cups from below through a magnetic flap. The result was a fully integrated, road-safe solution without any distracting add-ons - functional, well thought out, truly unique, and most importantly - hella cool!
Soon after, Norbert began experimenting with the core components that we take for granted in our Bullitts, and in 2018 development began on the first Pinion-powered Bullitt.
That meant not just tinkering with the components - but the frame itself. Instead of keeping the bottom bracket as is, he cut the frame to install a whole new Pinion fitting bottom bracket, and a larger tire clearance.
This cleared the way for gearbox-equipped Bullitts alongside chain and hub gear options, and as you might've gathered by now, this was only the first step for Norbert.
With the bottom bracket now occupied by the gearbox, he turned to rear-hub motor concepts. From the very beginning, he relied on Alber and their neodrives systems. But standing still has never been part of his philosophy. Following the introduction of the Pinion MGU in 2023 - a combined motor and gearbox unit - Norbert developed the first modified Bullitt prototype in record time, once again cutting and adjusting the frame to make room for another new bottom bracket to fit the Pinion MGU.

These pillars were the building blocks that created Norbert's business United Cargobike, as we know it today. A business that's ultra focused on customization and creative engineering solutions.

The Bullitt tailor
While we at Larry vs Harry focus on perfecting a cargosolution that works the best for the most amount of people, Norbert has found his niche, in the niche. Which is somehow an incredible specific and infinitely large niche.
The results are true one-offs, featuring handcrafted wooden cargo boards, exclusive powder coatings, and high-end lighting systems. That virtually no wish remains unfulfilled has long since become common knowledge, and Norberts bespoke Bullitts can be found all over the world.
United Cargobikes innovations go far beyond drivetrains and beers though: Custom mounts, proprietary dropouts, their latest aluminium fork for the Bullitt - or their counter argument to our Bullitt X. We added 22 cm. to the original Bullitt - United Cargobikes removed 22, and Norbert's Shorty was born.

Like the Bullitt, United Cargobike stands for uncompromising quality, intelligent engineering, and deep trust in the product. Because in the end, it's about more than mobility - it's about safety, passion, and the perfect solution for every use case. The Bullitt can already do a lot of stuff, but for some, there's no such thing as enough. That's why Norbert is here - to build your bespoke solution.
