Larry vs Harry are announcing an important service recall for some of our Bullitt cargo bikes and steering arms sold between 1st of August 2021 to March 2022. If you bought your bike or have received the steering arm linkage and it has been replaced in this time you should stop riding your bike immediately. We ask that you check if you are affected by visting https://www.larryvsharry.com/en/product-recall. If you are affected please read on.

What is the problem?
The reason for the recall is because we have learned that, on some bikes, a bracket located at a key point in the steering mechanism may fail without warning. If this bracket fails, you may be unable to steer your Bullitt. We don’t have to explain all of the problems this could cause, which is why we are advising you to stop riding your Bullitt immediately until the bracket can be replaced.

How will Larry vs Harry fix this?
In order to provide you with the best solution to this, we will be replacing the entire steering arm linkage on affected bikes. with a new one that will include a replacement bracket. We expect to receive the replacement steering arm linkages shortly.

Is this a problem with all Bullitts?
This problem is isolated to only certain Bullitts and spare parts sold in recent months. We have identified it as a manufacturing problem from a supplier, not a product design issue. If you purchased your Bullitt after August 1, 2021 or had your steering arm linkage replaced during this time, your Bullitt may be affected by this manufacturing problem.

In addition, we have created a page on the Larry vs Harry website where you can check your Bullitt frame number to find out whether your Bullitt may be affected by this service notice. That page can be found at https://www.larryvsharry.com/en/product-recall. Please note that if you had the steering arm linkage replaced on an older Bullitt, your frame number may not show up as one affected by this service recall when you enter it into this checking tool. In that case, if you believe your steering arm linkage was replaced after August 1, 2021 you should immediately contact your dealer or the bike mechanic who worked on your Bullitt for further information. Or you may contact us at info@larryvsharry.com and we will help you.

What do I need to do now?
To make it clear how important this is, if your Bullitt is affected by this notice WE ARE USING CAPITAL LETTERS HERE TO TELL YOU THAT YOU SHOULD STOP RIDING YOUR BULLITT IMMEDIATELY UNTIL THIS BRACKET IS REPLACED. CONTINUING TO RIDE YOUR BULLITT WHILE THIS BRACKET IS IN PLACE CAN RESULT IN INJURY OR EVEN DEATH TO YOU OR TO OTHERS.
Please take this notice seriously. We understand this is an imposition, we ride Bullitts ourselves and hate it when we can’t for whatever reason. In this case, please know that our first concern is for your well-being and safety and that of your family, pets, and friends.

Can I fix this on my own?
The steering arm linkage is not something you can replace on your own. A qualified bike mechanic should do it. Larry vs Harry will provide the new steering arm linkage and will pay for the existing linkage to be removed and the replacement linkage to be installed.
What do you need from me?
Here is what we need you to do if you believe your Bullitt may be affected by this service recall:
Contact us at info@larryvsharry.com with the following information:
- Your email address and phone number
- The frame number of your Bullitt. The frame number can be found on the underside of your frame, just in front of the bottom bracket (that’s where the crank (or pedal arms) connect through the frame). While we do have your frame number in our records, we want to confirm it so please send it to us.
- if you had the steering arm linkage replaced on your Bullitt after August 1, 2021, send us the contact information for the dealer or mechanic who did this work and we will follow up with them.
- The contact information for the bike mechanic who will be replacing the steering arm linkage.

What will Larry vs Harry do?
If you are the owner of a Bullitt affected by this service recall, here is what we will do:

1. If you purchased directly from our store in Copenhagen and want us to do the work, we will let you know when the replacement steering arm linkage is in stock so you can make an appointment to bring your Bullitt in to have it replaced.
2. If you prefer to use another bike mechanic, we will let the mechanic and you know when the replacement steering arm linkage is in stock and will send it to your mechanic along with instructions for how to replace the steering arm linkage.
3. We will pay for the reasonable labor costs for the new part to be installed in place of the old one. Please have the bike mechanic contact Larry vs Harry via email at info@larryvsharry.com before they do the work so that we can answer any questions.
While at this point in time we have very few failed brackets and no one has been injured as a result of a failed bracket, we care very much about your well-being and want you and your Bullitt to have a long, healthy, and happy relationship. As always, if you have any questions about your Bullitt, please feel free to contact us.
