Bullitteers around the world are redefining what it means to move—with purpose, with heart, and sometimes, with a couple of very determined dogs in the front.

From Cornwall, UK, Tom Pratt shares the story of Tommy and The Pointers—a man, a mission, two loyal co-pilots, and 960 miles of pure pedal-powered ambition.

My name’s Tom Pratt. I live in Cornwall, UK, and I’m the instigator of Tommy And The Pointers, a campaign to try and raise £1 million by riding a non-electric Bullitt cargo bike the length of the UK from Land’s End to John o’ Groats in just 7 days.

In the front of the bike? My two German Shorthaired Pointers, professional adventurers, snack thieves, and occasional navigators, who’ll be joining me for every single one of the 960 miles.

I’ll be pushing close to 180kg in total, with no motor, no shortcuts, and no guarantees, except for a serious number of hills, probably some sideways rain, and the occasional meltdown over where I left the Allen key.

This challenge is about showing that you don’t need to be famous, or a pro, or have gone through some trauma to make a difference. You just need a reason, a plan, and in my case… a Bullitt.

I spent a long time researching bikes before deciding on Larry vs Harry. The moment I saw the Bullitt, I knew it was the only machine for the job: light, strong, beautifully made, and clearly designed by people who understand what it means to haul half your life (and two dogs) across Britain with purpose.

We start the epic challenge on 1st September 2026, but in the meantime, the training, the planning, and the dares have already started. Yes, dares. Part of the campaign involves inviting celebrities (and anyone brave enough) to climb into the front of the bike and experience what I’ll be hauling. No pressure, but the dogs will absolutely judge your form.

The ride supports five amazing charities: Cornwall Air Ambulance, Children with Cancer UK, Prostate Cancer UK, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, and Talan’s Trust.

Some of them have personal meaning to me, others I support because I believe we shouldn’t wait for tragedy before doing something good. If this ride gets people talking, donating, or even just thinking about what’s possible, then we’re on the right track.

There’ll be pain, there’ll be headwinds, and there’ll definitely be dog hair in everything I own, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m just a regular guy with a cargo bike, a couple of mad dogs, and a very bad idea that’s somehow turning into something people care about.”

Thanks to Tom—and the two four-legged Pointers—for showing us what courage looks like in motion: a steady push, a clear reason, and a bike built to carry both.

We’ll be cheering from the saddle, the roadside, and every corner of the Bullitt universe as this wild ride unfolds.

Good luck, Tom. You've already inspired more than you know.
